Help Us Build The Haven for the Huskies
Help Us Build The Haven – A Safe Refuge for Florida’s Forgotten Huskies
At Husky Haven of Florida, we’re facing an urgent and heartbreaking reality. Every day, we receive desperate pleas from overcrowded shelters and owners who can no longer care for their Huskies. These beautiful, intelligent dogs are being abandoned, surrendered—or worse—euthanized, simply because there’s nowhere safe for them to go.
That’s why we’re launching an emergency campaign to build our very own boarding and care facility, which we’re calling The Haven for now—a peaceful, secure landing place for Huskies in crisis to rest, recover, and prepare for their forever homes. As we bring this dream to life, we’ll thoughtfully choose a permanent name that reflects the heart and mission of this special place.
Our goal is to purchase one acre of land and construct a facility that can initially house 20 Huskies, with room to expand as the need continues to grow—which it will.
Why The Haven Is Needed Now More Than Ever
Huskies are in crisis. Once celebrated for their beauty and spirit, they’ve now become one of the most overbred and misunderstood breeds in the country. Their energy, intelligence, and independence make them amazing companions—but only in the right homes.
In Florida, shelters are overwhelmed. Huskies are ending up on euthanasia lists—not because they’re aggressive or broken—but because there’s no space, no resources, and no safety net. We know this breed.
We know how to help them thrive. But without a physical space, we’re limited by foster availability.
The Haven will give us the ability to say “yes” more often, to take in those who need us most, and to give them the second chance they deserve.
This won’t just be a building—it will be a place of hope.
A place where scared, unwanted Huskies are met with love and understanding. A place where tails wag again. Where healing begins. Where lives are saved.
We have the experience. We have the passion. Now, we need your support to bring The Haven—and all it will represent—to life.
Together, we can make this dream a reality. For them.
